31 Days to a Healthier Me (and YOU!)

Hi! Before I start, I just want to take a moment to say thank you all so much for reading my blog. It really means a lot to me. And over the next 31 days, I will be blogging even more. A lot more. Like, everyday more. I want to make the month of May one of the best ones ever, and if you’d like to join me, that would be AWESOME.

To start off, let’s talk about goals. I think it’s important to set goals. Long term and short term goals. Right now I’m focusing on a short term goal. I just want to be healthy, so I’m making strides to do that. That is why I’m dedicating the month of May to that. Will it be super easy? No. It never is! But it won’t be awful! If it was cray cray easy, we would all be super healthy. But I like taking things one month at a time. Sometimes one week at a time, or even one day at a time. Or hell, even one HOUR at a time! So my goal for the month is to lose 8 pounds. 2 pounds a week. That is attainable!

I’m not going to be doing anything drastic. I just don’t believe in that. Been there, done that. Didn’t work out. I want to make being healthy a lifestyle for me, and you can’t just do that over night. It will take time, hard work and dedication. I’ve been really focused, and it’s helped tremendously that my family has been there to support me.

In 5 weeks, I’ve lost 7.5 pounds. It hasn’t been crazy hard, either, because I’ve been taking my time with it. Slowly incorporating health into my life. Making smarter choices about what I eat and how MUCH I eat. But I thought along the way, I’d share my journey. Maybe somehow I can help you along with yours. Or you can help me. Or we can help each other! Because support is so important, I can’t even tell you. Well, I guess I just did, actually. In my last blog, I talked about how my Dad came out for a visit a few weeks ago. He is on a healthy mission, so we kicked BUTT and both lost weight that week. It was awesome. So that is why I know that support is everything.

So, I’m here for you! We can do this together. Just give it your all for the next 31 days, and let’s see how great we feel at the end of the month. I’ll be honest with you the whole time. I’m sure I’ll make mistakes. It’s human nature. No one is perfect. But I will do the best I can do, and you should expect the same from yourself. If you’re already on a roll, share your experiences! We can all benefit from you.

But if you sit back and you aren’t changing yourself for the better, this month will go by and you’ll be mad that you didn’t do anything to help yourself. Don’t sit on the sidelines, GET IN THE GAME!

Side note, please don’t mind the construction of my site right now. I’m changing things up, and will be working on it over the next few weeks. Thank you for understanding!

    Yeah Nicki! This is great and so are you. I am actually trying a Dr. Oz 7 day jump start right now! My goal is 4 pounds in the month of May and even though I am only on day 2 it is great. I literally haven’t even been good for two days in the last year! Working out I can do but eating is my down fall…here’s to a great month. Love you!! We. Can. Do. it! We deserve it. :)
